Open your pantry. You probably have a bottle of apple cider vinegar in there that you've used in a homemade salad dressing, sauce, marinade or other recipes. But this multitasking powerhouse can do wonders for your health, beauty regimen and more.
Find out just a few of the amazing uses for apple cider vinegar below. It can:
Brighten teeth. In the morning, gargle with vinegar to help whiten teeth, remove teeth stains and kill bacteria in your gums and mouth. Then brush as usual.
Ease nighttime leg cramps. Mix 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon honey in a glass of warm water. It will help relieve your nighttime leg cramps.
Pamper your feet. Soak tired feet in hot apple cider vinegar. It will soften skin, reduce swelling and soothe sore muscles.
Tackle bad breath. Gargle with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar. Swish in your mouth to kill some of the bad-breath-causing bacteria and plaque, too.
Eliminate dandruff. Banish those annoying flakes in your hair. Mix ¼ cup apple cider and ¼ cup water in a spritzer bottle. Spray on your hair after you shampoo and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse. Use it twice a week.
Relieve a sore throat. Mix 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar and 3 teaspoons clover honey in a glass of warm water to soothe chronic sore throats.
Combat food odor. Say good-bye to stinky feet! Pour 1 cup of apple cider vinegar over thick, single-use size paper towels or baby wipes. Let wipes soak in the refrigerator overnight. Store in a zippered plastic bag and use as needed.
Help fade bruises. Lay an apple cider vinegar compress on a bruise to help it fade.
Work as a deodorant. Dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar. Rub it under your arms to prevent odor.
Improve your complexion. Vinegar acts as an exfoliant, controls acne and decreases red spots. First, test the vinegar on a small patch of your skin to ensure it doesn't cause irritation. To reduce shine and oil, cleanse your face and then apply vinegar to a cotton pad. Don't wash it off.
Kill weeds. Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar to 8 parts water. Pour into a spray bottle and spray on weeds to get rid of them.
Soothe razor bumps. Moisten a cotton ball with undiluted apple cider vinegar. Apply it to razor bumps.
Help with indigestion. Ward off the woes of indigestion. Drink this concoction 30 minutes before mealtime: Add 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon honey to a glass of warm water.
Prevent sluggishness. Need some energy? Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a glass of water. It should help you feel less tired.
Relieve sinus problems. To clear a stuffed nose, mix 1 teaspoon of vinegar in a glass of water.
Keep your pet flea-free. To help repel fleas, rinse dogs and cats with apple cider vinegar, being sure to avoid their mouth, eyes and nether areas.
Freshen the air. Leave your home smelling fresh. Spritz some apple cider vinegar from a spray bottle.
Revive nails. Soak weak, brittle and yellow fingernails weekly in vegetable oil and apple cider vinegar. It will remove nail stains and make them stronger.
